Songwriter, arranger and recording artist Cardi is credited with penning smash hits for Diddy, Twista, Nelly Bow Wow and Justin Timberlake, among many other super stars. Born Pierre Jones in Harlem, NY, he first established himself as a hit-making songwriter the year he co-wrote the Billboard Hot 100 chart topping hit “Hot In Herre” (by Nelly). The song gave Nelly his first number one on the United States Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and reached number four in the UK. It later won Best Male Rap Solo Performance, a brand new category at the time, at the Grammy Awards of 2003. The song was number three in the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 Singles Chart for 2002.
Well respected in the music industry, Cardi has worked in the studio with super producers Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Bangladesh, Rich Harrison and The Neptunes among others. As a member of EMI Music Publishing, Cardi has been a highly sought after writer since signing.
Now front and center as an artist, this Summer, Cardi will release the street single, “Dope Man,” a raw sounding sultry song with pop-diva Dawn of Dirty Money and “Streets On Fire,” both produced by Terry “MaddScientist” Thomas (P. Diddy, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson). Music fans can look forward to new music from Cardi that is inventive with a sound that’s gritty and raw.
